Walk for BBS 2022
Last year’s Walk for BBS occurred on April 23, 2022, and we ended up raising a total of over $8800 with more than 150 active participants. All funds were collected and sent to the Bardet-Biedl Syndrome Foundation, and because of the incredible success of the walk, we have decided to make it an annual event!
In regards to last year’s walk, I would first like to thank the Garrett family for their support in this event and for allowing me to focus my fundraiser on their youngest son, Henry Garrett. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Nicole Harvey, Community Affairs & Marketing Division Chief for Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, for her immense support in organizing this event. It truly would not have been possible for the event to occur without the tremendous help of Nicole the permitting and coordination of all of the many components that needed to be set in place for the event to occur. I would additionally like to thank Carla Svensen for her assistance in confirming the location availability for the event. Thank you also to Alexis Jones, the Bardet-Biedl Syndrome Foundation Project Manager for helping me manage the connection between my event and the BBS Foundation. I would also like to thank the Mount Pleasant Police Department for their assistance in ensuring that the walk would occur safely throughout the entire event. I would finally like to extend my gratitude to everyone who was able to participate in the event by either participating in the walk or donating to the event page.
